As a congregation we give away some of our income each year to support groups involved in missions in a variety of settings. The PCC agree to support a range of groups in different settings and as a parish we look to pray for the work that is being carried out.
The projects and groups we support are as follows:
BOOST – this charity is based in Felixstowe and provides a chaplaincy service in Felixstowe academy. Josh (the chaplain) often speaks at events in the Parish and across the town.
HOPE TRUST – a charity that is based in Felixstowe and seeks to serve the older population in town with tag line that no one should be lonely in our friendly town. Paul and Sheila, the pastoral workers often speak at services in our parish
CPAS – the Church Pastoral Aid Society – the aim of this charity is to enables churches to help every person hear and discover the good news of Jesus. It does this through supporting churches across the country offering advice on leadership and training events
Church Army - They are a mission-focused community who are committed to enabling and resourcing the church and its members to share the gospel. They don’t shy away from the difficult situations. Instead they embrace it to make lives better. In church we seek to prayerfully support their work and publicise their work.
OMF – a charity that seeks to serve the church and seek to bring the gospel to all the peoples of East Asia. A small group regularly meet in the parish to pray for the work of OMF – recently David and Manuela Pawson visited and spoke about the upcoming ministry with OMF
TEARFUND – An international charity working to end poverty. They speak of following Jesus where the need is greatest, working through local churches to unlock people's potential and helping them to discover that the answer to poverty is within themselves. When disasters strike, they respond quickly. They won't stop until poverty stops. As well as prayer support we have held quizzes and sales to support this charity
